In this day and age, temptations and bad habits are constantly surrounding us, making it more difficult to shed unwanted weight or simply spike the every-day workout routine. We all get in slumps and feel down….we may even think “well, what’s the point?” But TRUST me when I say, this life is a marathon, not a race. There is never ONE destination, but many! Keep working hard, eating clean and working out till you don’t even want to go back to your old ways. All of that hard work and dedication will pay off…just remember your body needs time to adjust. Never give up!

A bit about me? I’m a senior at the University of Texas studying English and a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I’m a health coach, fitness blogger, NPC bikini competitor (working on getting up to figure!!) and a MAJOR foodie. Once upon a time, I ate very “clean” but was still getting major energy slumps, bloated afternoons and lazy nights. I was eating clean but I couldn’t figure out why I was feeling the way I was. Once day I decided to give up the grains and dedicate my life to eating like a caveman. Yes I follow the diet of our ancestors- known as Paleo– and I absolutely love it. My energy is crazy high, my body feels great all the time and cooking has become even more exciting. Unlike most people who follow this diet, I do not focus on the high fat, low carb aspects, but instead I eat plenty of carbs AND some fat (obviously loads of protein) in order to reach my fitness goals. Hoping to compete in figure in 2014, I’ve set my eyes on building more muscle and it’s time to prove that it can be possible to do without loading up on grains.
